Das Ergebnis des Bauwettbewerbes Amazonashütte und die weitere Zukunft

English Version

So zumindest mein Plan.

Immer in meinem Blickfeld…❤️

Hier also die neue Alternative.

The Results of the Amazonas Hut Design Competition and the Future Ahead

It’s been a while since my last post, and it was marked by a lot of self-doubt. On the one hand, there was the upcoming competition to build my Amazon hut, and on the other, the future of this blog.

I’ve since made my decision. I also used some good advice as a benchmark. It helped me realize what’s important to me—and perhaps also what others expect. What I’d really like to see are active comments and dialogue. That’s exactly what wouldn’t likely happen with other options, at least in terms of written input. A well-meaning icon there is just a signal—not what I’d have hoped for. So I’ll just keep writing here for now, as long as I feel like it. It just means a lot to me to write and share my building projects this way.

Now for the results of the building competition. Below is the new location of the residential development. This time, the front access road was closed off as a precaution—to avoid any risks until the judging was complete—since people love taking photos with their own model cars parked in front of it. Better safe than sorry.

This is what the documentation for the building competition looked like…

…and the result. The competition had really pulled out all the stops and presented their own fantastic projects. The fact that there was still a clear vote in favor of the Amazon Hut made me feel a little proud.

The overjoyed winner could hardly believe it. The prize also included tools worth 250 €. Everything was just perfect.

In the meantime, of course, I couldn’t just sit around doing nothing, so I started some new projects. First, the outdoor shower, which I didn’t finish in time for the last SuperScale, and second, a new car.

The shower is supposed to be mounted slightly elevated on a stone foundation. Here’s the first photo of the setup…

A small water reservoir is to be housed in the foundation, which will allow water to flow out through a showerhead. At least, that’s my plan. I’d already had some initial experience with my watering can. Due to internal stress, water doesn’t flow realistically through the small holes. I still need to test whether pump pressure improves the situation. In the worst-case scenario, I’ll have to resort to the standard hose outlet.

Next, the first photos of the new car project: a 2018 Ford Raptor, model series P552. It will replace the Rat Comanche as the vehicle for the Amazon Hut. Due to its extra-wide track, it can’t be used on the SuperScale Park grounds. Everything there is designed for a maximum track width of 250 mm. But it’s by no means going down the path of everything that seems superfluous. No, it will be finished. Too much love and passion have already gone into it. It has become my very own personal favorite model. So extraordinary and striking that it literally fascinates me. Always in my line of sight…❤️

So here’s the new alternative. Not the original model, but my interpretation of a jungle-ready vehicle. No LED light show, a conventional chassis, and an interior free of electronics. No fuel injection or digital engine management—just pure engineering. Repairable anytime, almost anywhere.

The bumper, a stamped metal part, bent into a robust front guard and soldered together. Classic round headlights integrated into the front.

The suspension: proven technology without compromising on speed or excessive suspension travel. The installed springs are probably still too stiff and, in this case, completely unloaded.

All suspension struts are currently adjustable threaded rods. The underbody sits on frame extensions that will later use magnets to allow separation of the suspension from the body.

A few more views of the current construction status:

A cantilever suspension is currently installed at the rear, though the final decision on its future use has not yet been made. Conventional G-Made dampers are already on hand.

Part of the original headlight lens will be repurposed as a turn signal. The radiator grille, still visible here, will be removed and given a more classic look with the familiar Ford emblem, without any lettering.

Will be continued as soon as possible…
