Wer sich mit realistischem Modellbau beschäftigt, wünscht sich das natürlich auch beim Zubehör. Viele Hersteller bieten dazu die verschiedensten Produkte an, um das Gesamtbild so nahe wie möglich an die Realität anzupassen. Im Rockcrawler-Forum gibt es dazu unter anderem einen eigenen Bereich, in dem Modellbauer großartige Beispiele dokumentieren. Dort sind wahre Meisterstücke zu finden. Für die Ladefläche, meines sich im Endspurt befindlichen Toyota, sollen auch einige schöne Dinge ihren Platz finden. Auf einem Handwerker-Fahrzeug ist ja so einiges zu finden. Beginnend mit einer bildschönen Kettensäge, einem Modell aus dem Onlineshop der Fa. Stihl. Einen dazu passenden Link kann ich leider nicht mehr liefern, weil wohl leider nicht mehr verfügbar. 😪

Weiter daher mit der Herstellung des ersten Ladegutes, einem Paket Kunststoffrohre, wie es für Abflussleitungen verwendet wird. Aus Kunststoffrohrstangen wurden auf der Mini-Kappsäge viele kleine Ringe gesägt.

Meine Handbohrmaschine diente als Antrieb, für die folgenden Arbeiten. Die im Original 2 m langen Rohrstücke, wurden an den Enden entgratet…

und eine Fase, um das zusammenstecken zu erleichtern. 😉

Auch die angeformte Steckmuffe, auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite braucht diese Form.

Muffe und Rohr verbunden.

Aus einem weiteren Ring, schwarz angemalt, entstand der Einlegegummi, die eigentliche Dichtung.

Die Profilierung des Dichtringes durfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen und wurde noch aufgeschoben.

Der noch etwas harte Übergang von Muffe zum Rohr wurde beigespachtelt. Weiteres Schleifen bei einem 12 mm dicken und nur 8 mm langen Kunststoffteil war einfach zu aufwändig.

Nach dem Feinschliff, das vorläufige Ergebnis.

Für die farbliche Gestaltung brauchte es wieder etwas Kreativität. Einige Schrauben und ein Restholz für die Fixierung der Rohre. So könnte es jetzt fast bleiben, der Farbton passte aber leider noch nicht zu einem originalen HT-Rohr. 🤦‍♂️

Manufacture of loads and tools, Part 1-drainpipes

Anyone who is involved in realistic model building naturally wants the same for the accessories. Many manufacturers offer a wide variety of products to adapt the overall appearance as closely as possible to reality. In the Rockcrawler forum there is, among other things, a special section where model builders document great examples. True masterpieces can be found there. For the loading area, of my Toyota, which is in the final stages of completion, some nice things should also find their place. There are many things to be found on a craftsman’s vehicle. Starting with a beautiful chainsaw, a model from the Stihl online shop. Unfortunately, I can’t provide a link to it because it’s probably no longer available. 😪
But here are some photos of the jewel…

So on with the production of the first load, a package of plastic pipe, as used for drainage pipes. Many small rings were sawn out of plastic pipe rods on the mini-cutting saw.

My hand drill serves as a drive, for the following work. The pieces of pipe, 2 m long in the original, were deburred at the ends…

and a chamfer to make it easier to put them together. 😉

The moulded socket on the opposite side also needs this shape.

From another ring, painted black, was created the insert rubber, the actual seal.

Of course, the profiling of the sealing ring could not be missing and was pushed on…

The still somewhat hard transition from socket to pipe was filled. Further sanding of a 12 mm thick and only 8 mm long plastic part was simply too time-consuming.

After fine sanding, the preliminary result.

For the colour design it needed some creativity again. Some screws and a scrap of wood for fixing the tubes. It could almost stay like this now, but unfortunately the colour shade did not yet match an original HT pipe. 🤦♂️
